REQUESTS TO MAKE TO YOUR PAINTER
Make sure to tell your painter do not tape to the floor. Even safe release tape will adhere strongly when left on the floors for days on end. If he needs to anchor paper protection down, it should be taped to the base molding. Tape pull touch ups are always obvious, and very hard to blend into the existing floor.
Make sure when they put down paper for dust protection that he uses Brown Craft paper, or Red Rosin paper, NOT reinforced craft paper. The reinforced paper has a plastic whipstitch that makes for stronger protection, however it will press a pattern into your floor.
Under heavy paint cans, ladders etc, they should put down some 1/8″ or 1/4″ masonite. Also, tell him he should pad the feet of the ladder because your floor is completely finished.
